United Way of Greater Kansas City (UWGKC) is a $30 million nonprofit, funded entirely by the generosity of its donors. It is the Kansas City area’s leading charity, raising over $1 billion and impacting the lives of 1 million residents. Every dollar raised in Kansas City stays in Kansas City.

Its mission is to improve lives by mobilizing Greater Kansas City’s collective generosity for the greatest good.  To achieve that goal, United Way brings together a diverse network of people, programs and resources from throughout the metro area to help change the lives of those in need.

The long-standing relationships that United Way has developed with human services agencies in the area mean that it understands the true needs (current and upcoming) for the region.   The charity partners with more than 100 agencies to fund and provide critical social programming.

United Way is more than just a fundraising organization.  It has played a unique leading role in the philanthropic community for more than 100 years.  It is a one-stop-shop for community engagement and involvement, catering for the volunteer involvement needs of corporate Kansas City, as well as the many generous individuals and other groups.

United Way partners with hundreds of companies to provide them with volunteer and social service opportunities.  Because of that, they can pair individuals and groups in Kansas City who want to make a difference with the agencies who need the most support.

If you want to make a difference in the Kansas City community, United Way of Greater Kansas City can help you do it.
