04/26/2011 – This week we are featuring Mr. Leonard Corsi, with Town Center Plaza.
In an effort to help our membership become familiar with the Chamber's Board of Directors, we will be highlighting one of our Board Members in our Member Memo every 2-3 weeks. The Chamber's Board represents the interests of our member businesses. They are responsible for establishing policy, and serving as an advocate for the Chamber. Feel free to contact any of our Board Members if you have suggestions or ideas you think can better the Chamber.
This week we are featuring Mr. Leonard Corsi with Town Center Plaza.
Read on to find out a little bit about Mr. Corsi professionally and personally!
1. How does Chamber membership benefit Town Center Plaza?
Participating in Chamber activities provides us opportunities to get to know other businesses and how we might partner with them in a mutually beneficial way. It might be for goods or services or it could be for cross promotional marketing opportunities.
2. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Who didn't want to be a super hero? Being a superstar athlete, rock star or movie star could've probably also made the list.
3. What is one of Town Center Plaza's biggest and best events?
Our July Thursday Concert Club is always a crowd pleaser. We work hard to provide a fun experience for people of all ages. We have a Kid's Zone, adult and child refreshments and a different music genre each concert. But we do have a fun, exciting new event this year called "Sing!". It's a national vocal music competition for age groups 3-25, where the grand prize winner gets $25,000 for themselves and a charity plus the chance to sing/record their own song with two-time Emmy award winning singer/songwriter Kevin Briody.
4. How do you spend your free time?
I enjoy a great meal (preferably Italian – even better if it's my Mom's cooking) with a fine wine with my wife and family or a great night at a club hearing a fantastic band with friends and family.
5. What inspired you to be on the Leawood Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors?
I came from Cleveland and wanted to integrate myself into the community and find out what makes Leawood tick. It's the best way to put my experience to use in a new community, plus learn all about the place I now call home.
