"Paint the Night” on July 13 at Park Place's Summer Street Party filled with live music, street performers, outdoor activities, and entertainment.
Park Place is closing and transforming Ash Street, Leawood’s downtown-style Main Street, and Barkley Square, in to a full-blown street party that the public can explore with drinks in hand, and all of the restaurants lining the street with tents offering food and drink specials. Entertainment will include The KC All Stars and performance art from Quixotic, featuring dance, film, aerial arts, and music.
Pick up a “Park Place Passport” and get a stamp at each of the stores open late for the street party until 9:00 p.m., to enter for a chance to win prizes. For guests who want to stay at Park Place for the evening, contact Aloft Hotel, they will be offering a special “Stay and Play” rate the night.

For females ages 12 and up. This class is a living legacy honoring 19-year-old Leawood resident, Ali Kemp, who was murdered in 2002. For the fifth consecutive year, Johnson County Community College and the KU Edwards Campus are hosting the Start2Finish 5K Run-Walk. Proceeds for the race will support scholarships for JCCC students who continue their education at KU Edwards Campus. Post race activities include a kid’s fun run, bounce house inflatables, free food, a visit from your favorite KU mascots and a special gift for race finishers.

AT&T reports that their ongoing drive to improve their voice and data network is resulting in strong service performance, including keeping more than 99 percent of all Kansas City-area wireless calls connected. “In Kansas City we have worked hard to keep more than 99 percent of calls on the AT&T network connected—and we’re not stopping there,” said Nancy Garvey, AT&T’s vice president and general manager for the Greater Midwest Region.
AT&T has invested more than $850 million from 2008 through 2011 in its Kansas City-area wireline and wireless networks. AT&T made about 550 network upgrades in the Kansas City area since January 1, 2011, including:
