Overland Park, Kan. (December 30, 2009) – Menorah Medical Center, an HCA Midwest Health System hospital, and Midwest Physicians today announced that two of their physicians, Laurie D. Fisher, MD, and Hamner Hannah III, MD, were named to KC Magazine’s 2010 Super Doctor® list, an honor given to them by Kansas City area physician colleagues.
The magazine polled physicians throughout the greater Kansas City area, asking who they would select if they needed medical care. Responding doctors nominated colleagues from multiple specialty areas. Drs. Fisher and Hannah represent the practice areas of family medicine and cardiothoracic surgery respectively.
“These physicians are well-known for the quality and compassionate patient care they deliver,” says Steven D. Wilkinson, president and CEO, Menorah Medical Center “And it’s a special honor for them to be recognized in this way by colleagues.”
Dr. Fisher is a board-certified family medicine physician with Town Plaza Family Practice. She has more than 12 years experience and specializes in pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and geriatric medicine, with a particular emphasis on women’s healthcare management. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Fisher received her medical degree from Sanford School of Medicine-University of South Dakota School and completed her residency at Truman ... (go to www.leawoodchamber.org for more information)

Happy New Year!!
When patients come to Women’s Health, they often notice there is something different about this obstetrics, gynecology and midwifery practice. That’s because the practice is built around the idea of providing holistic care to women, which means that in addition to receiving care for their physical health, women are also cared for spiritually, emotionally and psychologically.
Becky Graham, DO, an obstetrician-gynecologist, cares for patients at Women’s Health in partnership with two certified nurse midwives, Pam Auman, RN, CNM and Samantha Petersen, RN, CNM. Dr. Graham believes their holistic approach provides women with a higher quality of overall care. “When we see patients, not only are we concerned with their reproductive health, but we also take the time to listen and understand their spiritual, emotional and psychological needs and integrate that into their care,” says Dr. Graham. With the holistic approach, patients also have access to the latest in obstetrics and gynecology care, including minimally invasive surgery and hysteroscopy.
That level of personal involvement in each patient’s care is what drew Auman, a certified nurse midwife for more than 10 years, to pursue her midwife certification. Prior to completing her certification, Auman had worked as a registered nurse for more than 30 years, having earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and Master’s of Science in Perinatal Nursing degrees at the U ...
