Ever think about going back to school? What would an undergraduate or graduate degree do for you? If you're like most of our students, you have a job, perhaps a family or other interests that keep you on the go.

At KU Edwards Campus, we understand your concerns about being able to balance work with family or personal life. We'll help you return to college with minimum stress.

Why Go Back?
According to recent census data, college graduates on average earn $23,000 more per year than high school graduates. The census also reveals holders of advanced degrees earn an average of 50 percent more per year than their counterparts with bachelor degrees.

Go Ahead - Go Back
What the numbers don't show is how a college degree can improve your lifestyle. It often translates to more responsibility, more frequent promotions and more job satisfaction. At home it means being able to do more for your family in every way.

Somerset Ridge Winery Ups Recognition Of Kansas Wines

Midwest wines are on a roll. In the center of the United States, a new type of crop is taking root: wine grapes. With the passing of the Kansas Farm Winery Act in 1985, the state better known for fields of corn and magical red slippers started down a path to rebuild the once world-famous Midwest grape growing and wine industry. Before Prohibition, most of the wine produced in the US came from Missouri and eastern Kansas. Prohibition devastated the once-thriving industry but in the past 20 years, the region has been reasserting itself in quantity and quality.

Now, Kansas is producing some of the most attractive wines in the country. In only five years – since 2005 – the number of licensed wineries in Kansas has risen from 13 to 25.

Says owner/winemaker Dennis Reynolds: “At Somerset Ridge, we have made it our mission to show the world what Midwestern soil is capable of.” Somerset Ridge Vineyard & Winery, just 20 miles south of the emerging cultural hub of Kansas City, has made one of the best white wines in the nation, as recognized in the 2010 Jefferson Cup Invitational Wine Competition.

The event took place on November 18-19 in Kansas City, Missouri. More than 600 wines had been pre-selected as outstanding examples of viticulture and winemaking in America.

In addition to winning a prestigious Jefferson Cup, Somerset Ridge also garnered gold and silver medals for five other wines. Awarded with a Jefferson Cup in the ... (go to www.leawoodchamber.org for more information)

Vehicle wraps increase in popularity

Traditionally the holiday season is a slower time at Speedpro Imaging, especially for big jobs, but this year an influx of vehicle wraps kept Speedpro employees as busy as Santa’s elves!

The fall newsletter seemed to spur a series of fortunate events, including new business in the form of vehicle wraps for several vans. Companies have also been inquiring more about the benefits of window perfs and decals. Speedpro Imaging worked to install vehicle wraps every day for the month of December and has kicked off 2011 with more in the queue.

“This was our busiest month ever with vehicle wraps, in the five years we have been open,” Owner Susan McGinnis said. “One week we wrapped a cargo van, three mini vans, a Ford F150 and a golf cart. Our clients are realizing the advertising potential of the company vehicle. It’s out there every day, so why not put it to work to bring more clients to you every day?”

According to the Outdoor Advertising Association of America, 75 percent of potential clients form opinions about companies based on graphics attached to vehicle fleets. “Outdoor advertising has been on an increase since 1993.”

Vehicle wraps and decals help boost sales because they keep information, literally, in front of, and next to, potential customers for longer periods of time. The Outdoor Advertising Association of America has said fleet vehicle graphics increase company recognition “15 times greater ... (go to www.leawoodchamber.org for more information)
